Meeting of the Organising Committee for the 2012 International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ISCEMIS)

The 1st meeting of the Organising Committee for the 2012 International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ISCEMIS), was held on 11th September 2009, in Glasgow. The FIMS Secretary General, Prof. Fabio Pigozzi attended the meeting together with the Representatives of the International Bodies concerned.

The idea to bring together every four years the global world of sport, sports medicine, physical education and sport science in the context of the Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games goes back to the decision taken some years ago by the Presidents of the International Federation of Sports Medicine, the International Paralympic Committee, the International Olympic Committee and the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education.

The first ICSEMIS took place in Guangzhou on the occasion of the 2008 Beijing Games.
