Position Statements
The Scientific Commission of FIMS prepares the FIMS Position Statements, which are intended to provide practical guidelines to practitioners in areas of Sports Medicine where there is controversy or a lack of clarity.
Once an area for investigation has been identified, the Scientific Commission sets up a Task Force that examines the published literature on the subject and consults with experts in the field. A document is formulated which is to be understood as an interpretation of the current scientific evidence, and after approval by all Task Force members published as a Position Statement.
